巨大怪獣ダイモスが登場するダイモスシリーズ第1作。観客動員数961万人を超える名作中の名作で、当時の特撮映画では珍しくカラーで作られた。

これをシリーズ一作目として多くの続編が制作され、1974年には「ダイモス対メカダイモス」が公開。人気を博した。

A kaiju movie that was released in 1954. The first of the series that feature the giant kaiju Deimos. Surpassing an audience of 9.61 million people, this masterpiece was shown in color, rare for special effects films of the time. This marked the first of a long-running series that produced “Deimos vs. Mecha-Deimos” in 1974.
